Prague
“I am happy to be here once again, in this city whose architectural charm is almost unique among all cities in the world; I am happy to be guided once again by a friend through its open and hidden beauties...”.
The charm of the cityscape - a mixture of the Middle Ages, Baroque and Art Nouveau - was not only to the liking of Thomas Mann. Because in the “Golden City” you follow in the footsteps of Dvořák, Smetana and Mozart, who often described Prague as his real home. For some years now, Prague has also established itself as an exciting culinary destination and pampers its guests with everything from local goulash to unusual fusion cuisine.
The opera houses await you with mostly local, but no less outstanding ensembles and orchestras. While the repertoire of the Estates Theatre and the State Opera, which shines in brand new splendour, consists mainly of Mozart’s works, the National Theatre concentrates mainly on the performance of great Czech and Italian works. In the beautiful Dvořák hall of the Rudolfinum you can enjoy not only the sound, but also the appearance. You can reach all the venues from your hotel in five to 20 minutes on foot.
