Just outside Stockholm, music lovers will find a real gem: the Slottstheater Drottningholm, one of the best-preserved baroque theaters in Europe. It is located on the grounds of Drottningholm Palace - still the residence of the Swedish royal family today - and was built by the architect Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz for the Swedish Queen Luise Ulrike of Prussia as a successor to a theater that burned down in 1762. The original stage technology has been preserved and the theater has a unique collection of 30 stage sets.
